1) Mie Prefecture, Japan

Located in both the Kansai Region and the Tokai Region of Honshu Island, Japan, Mie Prefecture is a stunning and geographically diverse area to visit. The coastline of Mie stretches almost 1,095 kilometers and the prefecture includes both the Suzuka Mountains and the Nunobiki Mountainous Range. Approximately 35 percent of Mia Prefecture is designated Natural Parks, meaning this is an ideal location for those who love spending time outdoors and anyone interested in nature.

The two sites most visited by tourists are the Ise-Shima and the Iga Ueno. The former is the most sacred Shinto shrine in Japan and the later a famous former castle town that is best-known for ninja.

An ideal choice for people who are interested in history and culture is the city of Liège, situated on the River Meuse in Belgium, just an hour from Brussels. Liège is rich is both architectural and artistic heritage and is also well-known as the birthplace of the writer George Simenon and Emperor Charlemagne.

3) Iberá Wetlands, Argentina

Comprising lagoons, marshes, and swamps; the Iberá Wetlands is a protected area of Argentina that stretches from Ituzaingo to Chavarria. These are the world’s second largest wetlands and a paradise for nature lovers.

The indigenous population was dwindling, but an intensive repopulation program has seen an increase in the population of animals and birds including the giant otter, the giant anteater, the red macaw and the pampas deer. Travelers have the option to stay in either eco-lodges or luxury lodges.
