Cheltenham Ladies Day

Cheltenham Ladies Day is THE event to be seen at for any fashionable female horse race enthusiast as not only does the day allow you the chance to see some of the best horse races of the whole event but it also is the day where ladies come from all over the country, dressed up in their best finery trying to outdo everyone else. Although there is no strictly enforced dress code this is not the reality, everything from high heels, scarves, nails, dresses, jewellery and of course the most impressive fascinator you can find is the order of the day. There is also another reason ladies dress to impress and that is the chance to win a selection of prizes for being the best dressed.

Cheltenham Ladies Day

This year the theme to tailor your outfit to so you are in with a chance to be one of the best dressed is colour and representing your nation, also new this year is the Ireland V Great Britain Fashion Stakes. This competition has been called the #COLOURMEMARCH and the team captains are Vogue Williams for Ireland and Miss Cheltenham Sophie Lydia Smith for Great Britain so get supporting your home nation ladies and you might be in with a shot of winning some amazing prizes. Just a few prizes to mention would be a £2100 Roulette Rose Gold Diamond Pendant by Boodles, a £1790 Bentley Motors Handbag and a £1250 Moloh Voucher. As you can see the prizes this year are exceptional and competition for them will be fierce so pick your best outfits ladies and aim to knock out the competition.

Now we come to the other most important part of Ladies Day and that is of course the actual races as this day is host to some of the best and most anticipated jump races of the racing calendar. The one you shouldn’t miss though is the Queen Mother Champion Chase, as not only being the highlight race of the day, it is also the shortest chase distance in jump racing so you get a chance to witness these marvellous, powerful animals at full speed around the course. If you do fancy a bet on horses running on 2016 Cheltenham Ladies Day, along with this main event there are 6 other races on the day so 7 chances in total to try your luck and maybe win big.

Whilst you’re enjoying the fashion and betting of the day the last important part to cover would be the best places to get some good food and drink. At the festival you will not be short of places to get some refreshments as there are many mobile catering units that offer a huge variety of snacks such as fish and chips, hog roasts, burgers, hot dogs, tea, coffee and of course a range of alcoholic drinks. The best places to look out for in my opinion would be Tommy Atkins Steak, Golden Miller Champagne Bar and the Best Mate Enclosure. If you want to spend a bit more and have a truly memorable Festival experience then there are also a number of restaurants that offer set lunches that are sure to impress friends and family, complimentary bars and afternoon tea as standard. My top picks would be the Cleeve Suite (as this is new for 2016), The Festival Restaurant and Chez Roux but there are many more to choose from depending on your budget.

So remember to dress to impress ladies, have a bet, and enjoy yourselves but if you have a few too many try and stay away from any cameras as you don’t want to be one of them photos that appear every year of the women that have enjoyed themselves a little too much.
