The Best Karl Pilkington An Idiot Abroad Quotes

If you have never heard of Karl Pilkington before the best way to describe him would be as one of the greatest philosophers and travelers of modern times or as a bald headed Manc twonk if you’re Ricky Gervais. Karl was sent around the World by Ricky and Stephen Merchant over 3 different tv series of An Idiot Abroad to deliver his unique perspective on the wonders of the world. Karl has a way of skipping over the hype and telling things the way they really are, which is why he has become such a cult phenomenon here in the UK.

In order to celebrate his new show, The Moaning of life on Sky, I though I would bring you some of Karl’s greatest ever An Idiot Abroad Quotes.

Hahaha, this is really great! I saw some of his stuff before – one of my favourites was him camping out in Peru.
As for quotes, I also love this one: “When Palin went round the world in 80 days, I wonder if that was a scheduled time or if he just said, ‘I’m sick of this, can we speed it up?”
Definitely not the typical traveller! A very original and funny guy!

Karl Pilkington is amazing, if you liked An Idiot Abroad you should try and check out The Moaning of Life or some of the older Rick Gervais Show podcasts.

In Peru the tribe only counted to 3. It’s all they needed. “Maybe why they didn’t get Connect Four”. He is brilliant. Love him to pieces and completely understood his dislike of the jungle

Hey Deb, I love the man too. Just recently I’ve been listening back to the old Ricky Gervais Show episodes and it’s great to hear how Karl began.

That’s too funny, I just discovered “An Idiot Abroad” yesterday. As a traveler, I am enjoying Karl’s take on things. I’ve only watched the first two episodes, so I don’t have enough quotes to sample from. But when I went out for dinner here in George Town, Malaysia, and saw at a hawkers Chinese-food court a stall with deep fried frog, Karl’s experience in China immediately sprang to mind. As I watch more of the show and continue my travels I anticipate thinking about Karl’s misadventures again and again.

      Hey Peter,

Karl Pilkington is my hero. You will love the ‘An Idiot Abroad Series’ and his new show ‘The Moaning of Life’ is great too. You should check out his books as well, they offer a great insight as to what he was thinking when visiting each location.
